Your first visit is a structured consultation, designed so you can see the planned result and understand each step before deciding anything.

A digital 3D scan and photographs are taken first, with X-rays where they are needed.

Dr Köni examines your teeth, bite and jaws and talks through what you would like to change.

You see a digital simulation of the planned result on your own face, in photo and video.

Week by week
He explains how treatment would progress week by week and answers your questions in the same appointment. The plan and its cost are explained before you decide.

Aligner delivery
If you go ahead, your aligners are manufactured and shipped; you then receive them and learn how to wear and clean them.
The simulation shows the plan; it is not a picture of a guaranteed result, and how teeth respond varies from person to person.
About Dr Berk Köni
Dr Berk Köni graduated in dentistry from Gazi University in 2009, completed an Erasmus clinical placement in maxillofacial orthopaedics at Cardiff University, and completed his PhD and specialty training in orthodontics at Gazi University in 2015. He is a member of the European Aligner Society and holds two orthodontic patents.
He founded DoubleCheck, a treatment-planning support platform for dentists that has supported more than 15,000 digital treatment plans, and has given more than 40 training courses for orthodontists in Turkey and the Middle East.

Risks and limitations
Orthodontic treatment is generally safe, but like any treatment it has risks. Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. Dr Berk Köni explains the risks that apply to your case before you decide.
Tenderness or pressure for a few days after starting treatment and after each new aligner or adjustment. Tooth decay, white marks on the enamel or gum inflammation if teeth are not cleaned well during treatment. Some shortening of tooth roots (root resorption). It is usually minor, but it can be significant in a small number of cases. Teeth moving back towards their old position (relapse) if retainers are not worn as advised after treatment.
